Great Dane Dog Training

Don't compare your Great Dane with any other dog. Physically, Great Danes are huge. At times, they act like any other smaller lap dogs. What makes them very lovable is that they have several pleasant characteristics. They can be obedient provided that you equip them with the appropriate dog training.

The Great Dane is full of courage and spirit. This breed needs to be surrounded by people so you should teach him how to behave accordingly. He can be both a guard dog and a domestic pet. His behavior ranges from being pretty quiet and laid back but can turn into a bull whenever he needs to protect you. Thus, it is your responsibility to train him.

At a tender age, you should employ the necessary dog training techniques for your Great Dane. Take a look at the following: Remember the importance of puppy training. Separation anxiety often affects the puppy. Thus, be able to let him feel that he is loved and cared for. Give him a safe place to stay. Introduce him to his own play station, toilet, and the likes. He should differentiate the parts of his own home so that his behavior would be curbed.

Let him socialize with loud and quiet babies, male and female dogs, and other animals. You should introduce him to both the quiet and noisy activities so that he would not turn aggressive when there is a sudden change in his environment. As he grows older, give him simple instructions. Repeat them over and over again until he becomes familiar with it. Be consistent in instilling discipline in him. Reward him when he has done something nice and punish him only when it is needed.

It is vital that you let your Great Dane feel that he is accepted and secured. He would love you more if you somehow assure him that you also love him. Remember that dog training, when done the right way, shapes a pet's attitude towards other people and towards you as his master.

Children and How to Keep Your Kids Happy and Safe

Consider your children's personalities, number of children in the house, and ages before selecting a K-9. Everyone will lose out if you don't make a good choice, so take some time to be introspective about this. Are all your two kids under 9? If they are, you might not want to get the high-energy breed that might require the same amount of time and caring as your children do. Also, take into consideration how mature your children are. There are some thirteen year-olds that are not ready for dog-ownership responsibilities, while there are some 9 year-olds that are mature enough to have a dog. You have to be honest with yourself. There are many obnoxious children and there are some who have a hard time with impulse control or anger management. If your kids are always bothering you with things such as endless questions, poking, and other disruptive behavior, most likely they will act the same way with the dogs. Every dog has their boiling point, and some are higher than others. You must ask yourself this very important question before getting a dog-Is your child ready to have a dog in the house?

Some breeders who will not place a dog if there are very young children in the house. They are worried that the toddlers is too young to understand the restraints when playing, or that the dog might not be getting right attention. Puppies can learn to be shy with humans if they are treated too roughly, and a small dog can be injured accidentally by a baby. If you have a little one, you should seriously consider these things.

After you have made up your mind that your child is grown up enough for a K9 and that you are going to be able to spend enough time to watch over their interactions and the dog will receive enough exercise, it's time to figure out what does your child need in a dog. A little pet is not likely to be the ideal friend for your child if he is rambunctious and full of energy. For example, a 4-pound Yorkie is prone to accidental injuries and isn't going to be up to running around the neighborhood. You want to encourage a good relationship, in addition to safety concerns. The best bet for a child like this would be an adolescent or an adult Golden retriever. These dogs love endless ball tosses and playing with friends.

A young child may have lots of children that stop by. That is why you want to be sure that the dog you get is not an escape artist. There are some pets that just want to run, as anyone who has owned a Grey Hound would confirm. And no matter how great our efforts are, a child and an escape artist are just a bad combo. Kids leave doors ajar and gates open. Their school mates do this even more. While some guardian breeds make great companions for your own children, some may be inappropriate, because they can be too protective. What if the dog misinterprets a friendly wrestling match between your children? What if one of your kid's friends let himself into your home without knocking on the door?

The Ultimate Guide to a Happy Healthy Guinea Pig - A Review of the eBook by Rachel Garlick

AppId is over the quota

Introduction and Overview:

Overall the eBook "The Ultimate Guide to a Happy Healthy Guinea Pig" is a very good reference guide about the care of your cavies. It gives you a lot of helpful tips on housing, diet, behavior, grooming, common health issues and breeding of these small pets. It also includes information on the history of the animal and some facts about different breeds of guinea pigs.

Product Overview:

The Ultimate Guide to a Happy Healthy Guinea Pig by Rachel Garlick is a 65 page PDF downloadable eBook. It is currently priced at $14.77 while it is being market tested, but the author warns that after the test market concludes it will rise in price to $20.00.

There are three bonuses that were included in the $14.77 price. The bonuses are Guinea Pig Names (PDF format), Guinea Pig Quick Start (PDF format), and Guinea Pig Shopping (HTML Document). The Guinea Pig Names bonus helps you to choose a name for your furry friend from many popular and creative categories like cartoon characters and food. Guinea Pig Quick Start is a guide for the items and supplies you will need when you first bring your piggy home. The last bonus "Guinea Pig Shopping" contains a number of pictures of the items you will need to shop for before you bring your companion home.

What I Like About The Ultimate Guide to a Happy Healthy Guinea Pig

The most important information that is included in this eBook in my opinion is the list of foods that your pig can eat and the foods that can harm or possibly kill your pig. It was especially helpful to read about the dangerous foods for your pigs. For example, did you know potato peels are bad for your pig to eat?

Also, it was interesting to learn that these small rodents and humans share a common trait: we both can't manufacture vitamin C. That is why it is important that your pig has vitamin C in their pellets, veggies, fruits and a supplement to be healthy and to avoid getting scurvy.

When it comes to shopping for a cage for your pig(s) the bigger the better is the rule. The eBook suggests 7.5 sq. ft (30"x36") for one and 10.5 sq. ft (30"x50") for two pigs. This is consistent with what is generally recommended by pig rescue organizations for cage sizes. The eBook informs you that a wire grid bottom for your cage can harm your pig's delicate feet and definitely should be avoided.

The guide discusses the different behaviors and that your pigs are social animals. This chapter was helpful on understanding my pigs and interpreting what their behavior means.

What I Did Not Like About The Ultimate Guide to a Happy Healthy Guinea Pig

The eBook does not include any information about the Cubes and Coroplast (C&C) cages that are a popular cage system for providing a larger and healthier environment for your small pig. The shopping guide bonus only included pictures of pet store cages that are too small and cramped.

I also would have liked to see a warning about keeping your pigs in an aquarium, which can cause respiratory problems from the ammonia fumes. The glass enclosure does not let the air circulate and the ammonia fumes from the urine can be harmful to your pig.

Rating

I would rate this eBook 4.0 out of 5 stars. The reason I did not rate it 5 stars is because they did not provide any information on how to build or obtain a larger and healthier C&C cage for your pigs that meets their minimum cage-size requirements.

The "Ultimate Guide to a Happy Healthy Guinea Pig" was worth the $14.77 for all of the helpful information and bonuses that it included. It would be especially beneficial for the beginner that never cared for a guinea pig before. Many people do not know the proper diet for a guinea pig and their need for vitamin C. In conclusion, I would recommend it for those that care enough to seek out the knowledge necessary to provide their pig(s) the best living environment possible.

We here at Blue Stone Commerce are pet owners as well as pet cage sellers. In fact, our very first cages were designed and built strictly for our own personal use. It wasn't until we saw how much happier, more active and content our pigs became when we put them into their new spacious C&C cage; that we realized just how great an environment these cages could offer our pigs.

That's a hard thing for a writer to do but he does it with seeming ease and creates a story that you not only believe but feel like you are living in. Confessions of a Dog Catcher by Lisa Duffy-Korpics - A Book Review

Confessions of a Dog Catcher by Llisa Duffy-Korpics, is one of those hidden gems that deserves a wider audience. Even nine five-star reviews probably won't be enough to save this book, which means it will probably be as lost and forgotten as some of the stray animals Lisa rounds up.

This book is far better written (and infinitely more entertaining) than some books offered to us from major New York publishers. Lisa knows how to tell a story. Each chapter shares an episode from her four years as an Animal Control Officer, working her way through college in a small town on the Hudson that appears to be Peekskill, New York. Peekskill combines snowy winters, steep hills and amazing views of the Hudson River. But Lisa shows us an aspect of the town even residents rarely see: the complex relationships of people and pets.

Lisa shares the good, the bad and the evil. Sometimes she gets to save an animal's life. Sometimes she gets in bizarre situations (like the woman who thought "feed and water the kittens" meant "throw water on them"). And she meets people who are so cruel it's breathtaking.

Even the upbeat ending fits the story. Lisa's a natural writer. She describes filling in as a school crossing guard, having the kids skip across the street. She's a natural with kids and she must be a pretty amazing person. She's headed for a teaching career, where she'll undoubtedly make a contribution. I hope her next book gets a stronger platform for publication.

A wise choice for a young rabbit would be alfalfa hay. This would provide them with a good dose of carbohydrate and calcium. The looser the strands the better amount of digestion that can take place.

All rabbits enjoy eating fresh green vegetables. This is a primary ingredient in their natural diet. Try to vary the selection on different days. A good choice would be such products as broccoli, spinach, celery, lettuce, and even garden grass. Keep an eye on their toilet movements to ensure that the vegetables do not cause any diarrhoea or similar problems.

There is nothing wrong with giving your rabbit the occasional piece of fruit but too much can make them unwell and even cause tooth decay. If you want to give fruit then choose varieties that can be chewed easily.

Most pet stores sell specialist rabbit pellets that are a great way to make sure they are having the right balance of nutrition. With a young rabbit understand exactly the correct amount as you would not want them to get obese.

You should not overlook the importance of water. Be certain that the rabbit has access to clean and fresh water each day. Do not let the liquid become stale or contaminated by food.
